Project Summary

We took a classic 1970s coastal weatherboard house and breathed new life into it. By adding simple yet effective extensions to the front and back, we transformed it into a modern, open, and inviting space. Our aim was to enhance natural light and ventilation, bringing the outdoors in and establishing seamless indoor-outdoor connections.

One of the standout features is the new Australian hardwood facade, which beautifully harmonizes with the house's existing horizontal design elements. Inside, Australian Blackbutt timber structures and feature screening create a warm and inviting atmosphere. There's even a rooftop garden, a green sanctuary that crowns this coastal gem. And when it's time to let the outdoors in, our elegant timber bi-fold doors by Bago Woodworks make it effortless. It's a renovation that blends the old with the new, bringing timeless charm to modern living.

It was a pleasure having JMB renovate our home. The whole experience from consultation to completion was totally stress free and inclusive. As a team Joss, Harry and Jack were always punctual and keen to start the day.

Throughout the build, JMB demonstrated great attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to suggest alternate solutions when required.

The build has fulfilled all our expectations and we are more than happy with the process and the outcome.
